“The early summer sky was the color of cat vomit.” – Scott Westerfeld, Uglies

  • My name is Douglas. I am an actual young adult, being 20 years old, writing this blog about young adult literature. My interest in reading started in elementary school when I picked up my first ever copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stoneby J.K. Rowling. From the page one, I’ve been an avid literature buff. Mostly spending my time within the genres of children’s and young adult because of the endless amount of places that their authors can take a reader, without focusing on things like nostalgia or lost youth. Young adult literature has changed my life and it always brings me joy to “convert” a reader of solely adult fiction to the “dark side.” In my (not so) spare time, I am a sandwich artist at a local sub franchise, I’m learning about music, history, and world peace in school, and I enjoy spending my evenings and weekends playing cards in Denny’s with my closest friends. My future plans include writing a YA novel of my own and becoming an educator or joining the Peace Corps, whichever comes first.I am a proud Nerdfighter, working to decrease WorldSuck.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m excited to read your first reviews. I see John Green’s new book is on your Goodreads shelf. Can’t wait to hear what you think.

I finished TFIOS a couple of nights ago. It was just as good as I expected from John. Expect a blog post about it in a week or two. =)
